About this system
This system visualises and displays the co-authorship relationships of research outputs such as papers and preliminary drafts
with reference to the bibliographic method described below.
The data are from OpenAlex, an open bibliographic database of research papers.
Points to note
Due to differences in the subjects included, the type of inclusion and other factors,
the results may not necessarily be consistent with the results of analyses in other bibliographic databases.
While OpenAlex data is updated as needed,
this system outputs data based on snapshot data at a specific point in time,
so the results may not always match the results analysed by OpenAlex or other systems
based on OpenAlex data due to differences in the range of this snapshot.
The results may not always agree with the results analysed by OpenAlex or other OpenAlex data-based systems due to differences in the range of this snapshot.
Due to their characteristics, they reflect the characteristics and errors of the OpenAlex data.
For example, "Korea University" exists in both Korea and Japan.
In the past, the two were not distinguished and were all counted in Japan,
so the relationship between Japan and Korea was sometimes closer
than it really was
(until the November 2022 edition, which now appears to be correctly classified).
The well-known Japanese research institute RIKEN (RIKEN) has 13 institutes,
including RIKEN AIP and RIKEN CBS, in addition to RIKEN itself,
for a total of 14 institutes registered separately.
Thus, for example, RIKEN does not include the results of RIKEN AIP.
Also, "RIKEN BNL Research Center" is registered as a US institute
because it is located in the USA. These data characteristics should be taken into account.
